I had been part of a large firm in Sacramento for almost three years. During that time, my case load was extremely large and prevented me from having one-on-one contact with my clients. I was also not able to provide each client with the time needed to properly represent them. I opened my own business in 2001 because I was not satisfied with the demands a large law firm placed on me. Having my own business means I am able to spend more time with my clients discussing the details of their case. That means I sit down with them and really listen to what they are saying. It also means defining the problem and determining how the client wants the matter resolved. I believe that each case is a partnership. I know the law and my clients know the facts. Together, we can put the pieces in the proper order for the best representation. I often wish that my business was such that I could give potential clients a list of my current and past clients so they could hear for themselves how satisfied they are with my services. Given the confidentiality of each client, that is not possible. I truly believe that if my clients could tell the public about my services, 98% of them would hold me and my business in high regard. I treasure the cards and referrals I receive from them because it is an indication that I am doing a good job. I am not in this business to get rich. I chose the legal field to help those who can’t navigate the legal system without an attorney. I am in the legal arena to convince people that not all attorneys are “bottom feeders” who only want their clients’ money. My rates are reasonable and, in some cases, I will set up a payment schedule. Clients come and clients go. In the end, I have to live with myself. In order to do that I have to know that I have done the best job that I am capable of in order to help my clients through a very trying time. I have to know that I have made a difference. Sacramento Family Law / Divorce Experience: September 1994 through August 1998: I worked for the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office where I gained experience dealing with the judicial system. I learned the rules of court and how to effectively use the court system. I also familiarized myself with the judges and clerks of the Sacramento County Superior Court and gained confidence within the courtroom environment. September 1998 through June 2001: I was an associate in a large Sacramento law firm. During that time I practiced family law and criminal defense in the counties of Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Napa, Yolo, Yuba and Sutter. June 2001: I opened the Law Office of Julie Raridan. I had minimal resources and practiced out of my home. A year later, I outgrew my home office and was able to move to a small office in Downtown Sacramento. In December 2003, I needed more space and moved to my current location across from the Sacramento Superior Courthouse. I was also able to hire an office manager who is familiar with all aspects of my practice and able to assist my clients in my absence. Education:: Lincoln Law School (1993-1997): I maintained high grades and was awarded the Moot Court Trial Advocacy award. This was an award given for the best student in a trial setting for the entire class (over 100 students competing). California State University, Sacramento (1990-1992): I maintained a 3.6 grade point average even though I had a small child at home. My major was in Government with a minor in Criminal Justice. Sierra College (1986-1988): I received an Associate’s Degree and took writing and speech classes to become comfortable speaking in front of others. Address:  P.O.
